How much space do I need around my pool Table- The age old question

A question that we are often asked from customers about pool tables is: How much space do I need around my pool table?

A good starting point is what size is your room? What size pool table do you want?

When a pool table manufacturer says they make 7',8' and 9' models, the overall outside measurements change from model to model depending on the design and width of the wood rails. One thing is always consistent though, and that is the size of the slate, and the nose to nose on the rubbers when mounted to the slate. A 7 foot table is always 39" x 78", an 8 foot is always 44" x 88", and a 9 foot is always 50" x 100" from rubber to rubber (where the ball hits the rubber).

We offer cues in 42", 48", 52" and 58" lengths so that as long as you have 40" around the table, you will always be able to line up and make a shot.

All our pool tables come 3 cues (you pick the sizes), and additional cues can be purchased as well.

See the below chart for room size requirements for 7', 8' and 9' pool tables along with all 4 sizes of cues that we offer.

See the below for the anatomy of a pool table.

Here is a good video to watch as well.

Bonus fact- lighting above a pool table is usually hung at 32" -40" above the playing surface.
